Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Services, Telecoms and Plantations sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL), which rose 9.52% or 2.00 points to trade at 23.00 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 9.09% or 0.10 points to end at 1.20 and Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) was up 7.47% or 15.30 points to 220.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 22.70% or 590.10 points to trade at 2010.00 in late trade. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) shed 13.67% or 9.50 points to 60.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 97 to 87 and 45 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.93% or 0.43 to $46.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.82% or 0.39 to hit $47.99 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.48% or 6.10 to trade at $1269.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.19% to 210.380, while USD/LKR fell 0.24% to 145.725.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.01.
