Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII), which rose 5.60% or 0.0475 points to trade at 0.8950 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) added 4.21% or 0.4700 points to end at 11.6300 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was up 2.33% or 0.1300 points to 5.7150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM), which fell 3.50% or 0.26 points to trade at 7.16 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) declined 2.75% or 0.37 points to end at 13.07 and Tod'S (MI:TOD) was down 2.38% or 1.70 points to 69.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 253 to 176 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.43% or 0.13 to $30.57 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.49% or 0.46 to hit $30.49 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.53% or 5.70 to trade at $1090.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0852, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.7510.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 99.11.
