Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Property and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 1.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which rose 3.25% or 50.000 points to trade at 1590.000 at the close. SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) added 2.83% or 19.500 points to end at 708.500 and Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM) was up 2.68% or 0.150 points to 5.750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which lost 1.57% or 4.000 points to trade at 251.000 in late trade. Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) declined 0.71% or 16.000 points to end at 2252.000 and First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN) shed 0.58% or 0.15 points to 25.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 117 to 78 and 41 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.45 to $1355.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.62% or 0.26 to hit $41.34 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.23 to trade at $43.30 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.34% to 7.0713, while USD/PHP fell 0.31% to 46.955.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.59.
