SYDNEY, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Australian job advertisements rebounded in October, a survey showed on Monday, in a positive sign for moderate growth in employment.
A monthly survey by Australia and New Zealand Banking Group ANZ.AX showed total job advertisements rose 1.0 percent in October, from September when they were unchanged.
That lifted the annual pace of job ads growth to 5.2 percent, from 3.8 percent in September. ANZ no longer provides a breakdown between internet job ads and those in newspapers, as the latter are now a tiny share of total ads.
"The rise in job ads is encouraging and points to ongoing improvement in labour market conditions," said Felicity Emmett, head of Australian economics at ANZ.
"It is consistent with the moderate pace of economic growth, as well as above average business and consumer sentiment."
The jobless rate fell to a three-year low of 5.6 percent in September, down from 6.1 percent a year earlier, but employment growth slowed and hiring was heavily skewed toward part-time positions.
