Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.57% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 0.79% or 0.18 points to trade at 22.93 at the close. Unilever NV (AS:UNc) added 0.72% or 0.35 points to end at 49.51 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) was up 0.71% or 0.37 points to 52.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 4.08% or 0.79 points to trade at 18.46 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 2.85% or 0.530 points to end at 18.045 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) shed 2.51% or 0.076 points to 2.954.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 33 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 13.38% to 12.13.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.49% or 0.22 to $44.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.19% or 0.09 to hit $46.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.55% or 19.72 to trade at $1256.18 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1146, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.8740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 97.48.
