Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Electricity and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which rose 3.89% or 0.700 points to trade at 18.700 at the close. Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) added 2.80% or 0.150 points to end at 5.500 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 1.45% or 0.50 points to 35.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sider (LM:SID), which lost 3.13% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.371 in late trade. Unacem (LM:CEL) declined 1.60% or 0.040 points to end at 2.460 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 1.18% or 0.010 points to 0.840.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 8 and 14 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.69% or 0.35 to $51.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $53.74 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 6.68 to trade at $1260.28 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2765, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6762.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 96.88.
