Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.11% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 3.31% or 0.2950 points to trade at 9.1950 at the close. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 2.70% or 1.40 points to end at 53.20 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) was up 2.29% or 0.75 points to 33.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 12.79 in late trade. Konecranes Abp (HE:KCRA) added 0.06% or 0.02 points to end at 33.00 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) gained 0.11% or 0.04 points to 38.12.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 51 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.25% or 0.13 to $53.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $50.85 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 2.40 to trade at $1281.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.0750, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8385.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 99.53.
