Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 8.70% or 0.1010 points to trade at 1.2620 at the close. Meanwhile, Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) added 1.15% or 0.35 points to end at 30.85 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) was up 0.79% or 0.19 points to 24.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which fell 4.75% or 0.310 points to trade at 6.220 at the close. Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) declined 4.08% or 0.5700 points to end at 13.4100 and Saipem (MI:SPMI) was down 4.01% or 0.3550 points to 8.5050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 263 to 169 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) rose to 5-year highs; rising 8.70% or 0.1010 to 1.2620.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.09% or 0.04 to $45.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.17% or 0.09 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 2.48% or 29.20 to trade at $1146.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.0953, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.7160.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 97.52.
