SEOUL, May 26 (Reuters) - Korea Western Power Co Ltd (WP) has bought 440,000 tonnes per year of coal via five-year term tenders that closed on Wednesday, a source from the utility said on Friday.
The utility originally sought to purchase a total of 880,000 tonnes per year of coal, but it only bought half of them from Australia, the source said without elaborating, due to company policy.
