Investing.com -- U.S. oil stockpiles unexpectedly rose in the latest week, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday.
Crude inventories increased 1.28 million barrels last week, compared with analysts' expectations for a draw of 5.19 million barrels.
Distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, fell 4.97 million barrels in the week against expectations for a draw of 3.746 million barrels, the EIA data showed.
Refinery crude runs fell 2.59 million barrels. The weekly refinery utilization rate fell 14.5%, according to the EIA report.
Gasoline inventories rose 12,000 barrels last week the EIA said, compared with expectations for a draw of 3.062 million barrels.
