Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 6.35% or 0.4500 points to trade at 7.5400 at the close. Meanwhile, Yoox (MILAN:YOOX) added 4.78% or 1.28 points to end at 28.06 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS) was up 4.46% or 0.0700 points to 1.6390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT), which fell 2.66% or 0.0280 points to trade at 1.0260 at the close. Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) declined 2.52% or 0.40 points to end at 15.50 and Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) was down 1.43% or 1.10 points to 75.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 273 to 164 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.40% or 0.18 to $44.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $47.47 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 2.14% or 23.80 to trade at $1137.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.1260, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.7406.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 95.75.
