TOKYO, June 1 (Reuters) -
* Japan's Inpex Corp 1605.T says it expects to start gas production from the wellhead for the Ichthys liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Australia within a week or two following the final safety checks.
* The company said on Thursday it has completed commissioning of all key onshore and offshore facilities for production start-up of the $40 billion project.
* The move marks a slight delay from the company's announcement in late March that both a start to gas production and completion of commissioning of key facilities would be completed between April and May. The company said first shipments of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), condensate, an ultra-light form of crude oil, and LNG would begin by the end of September.
* Marketing for offshore condensate from the floating production, storage and offloading facility (FPSO), which will be the first product to be shipped, has not begun yet, an Inpex spokesman said, adding that is partly because its quality has yet to be determined.
