Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Chemicals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 7.00% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.107 at the close. Korres (AT:KRRr) added 4.43% or 0.140 points to end at 3.300 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 3.66% or 0.006 points to 0.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 9.72% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.130 in late trade. Reds (AT:CAMr) declined 8.24% or 0.028 points to end at 0.312 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) shed 5.34% or 0.0110 points to 0.1950.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 57 to 38 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.66% or 8.45 to $1265.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.28% or 0.58 to hit $44.69 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.99% or 0.46 to trade at $45.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.0879, while EUR/GBP fell 1.09% to 0.8698.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 98.91.
