PARIS, April 16 (Reuters) - French mining company Eramet ERMT.PA said on Tuesday that its SLN nickel division - which has faced pressure over rising costs - had received a boost from the New Caledonia government, which had approved SLN's nickel ore exports.
Eramet said the decision would allow SLN to be able to export its lower-grade nickel ore, which in turn would allow SLN to cut its costs.
"This positive decision is part of a three-pronged rescue plan that is expected to reduce SLN's cash-cost by $1.30/lb by 2021," Eramet added in a statement.
