BEIJING, March 21 (Reuters) - China imported 4.42 million tonnes of coal from Australia, its biggest supplier, in February, down 19.82 percent from a year ago, data from the country's customs authority showed on Monday.
The data excludes low-grade lignite.
China's coal import demand has slipped as a result of weakening demand and a huge supply glut at home.
Overall imports, including lignite, fell to 13.54 million tonnes in February, down 11.3 percent from the same month last year, according to preliminary data earlier this month. TRADE/CN
