SHANGHAI, Jan 26 (Reuters) - China imported 5.76 million tonnes of coal from its top supplier Australia in December, down 37.1 percent from a year ago, customs data showed on Tuesday, with demand in the world's biggest energy consuming country declining rapidly.
Total imports from the country reached 70.86 million tonnes in 2015, down one quarter compared to 2014, figures from China's General Administration of Customs showed.
Imports from Indonesia also slumped 38.8 percent to 3.08 million tonnes in December from a year ago, taking the full-year deliveries down 39.8 percent to 28.28 million tonnes.
