Aug 8 (Reuters) - Australia's top power producer AGL Energy AGL.AX on Thursday posted a better-than-expected annual underlying profit, boosted by strong performance in its wholesale electricity generation business.
Underlying profit for the 12 months ended June 30 rose to A$1.04 billion ($702.73 million) from A$1.02 billion a year earlier and beat forecasts of A$1.02 billion, according to IBES data from Refinitiv.
