SYDNEY, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Australia's largest wheat exporter on Friday revised down its production estimate from the country's west coast region by more than 7 percent after recent bouts of hail and frost.
CBH Group, which dominates wheat export from Western Australia, pegged all grain production from the state during the 2015/16 season at 13 million tonnes, down from its previous estimate of 13.5 million tonnes.
A spokeswoman for CBH Group told Reuters that 60 percent of the state's grain will be wheat, meaning production will total 7.8 million tonnes, down from a previous estimate of 8.4 million tonnes.
The CBH Group estimate is about 18 percent below Australia's most recent official forecast.
The Australian Bureau of Agriculture, Resource Economics and Rural Sciences (ABARES) in September pegged Western Australian wheat production at 9.53 million tonnes.
Lower wheat production from Australia, the world's fourth largest exporter, will further support global prices Wc1 , which hit a two-week top on Friday amid concerns over potential unfavourable weather in major global producers.
Wheat is set to finish the week up nearly 6 percent, its largest weekly rise in four months.
Western Australia is the country's largest exporting state, typically supplying markets such as Indonesia and Korea.
