Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 2.97% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 1.40% or 0.47 points to trade at 34.48 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) fell 0.30% or 0.07 points to end at 23.21 and Unilever NV (AS:UNc) was down 0.63% or 0.25 points to 39.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Randstad (AS:RAND), which lost 13.63% or 5.58 points to trade at 35.38 in late trade. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) declined 12.55% or 2.08 points to end at 14.53 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) shed 7.80% or 0.728 points to 8.607.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 157 to 16 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.34% to 31.71.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.98% or 1.42 to $46.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.90% or 1.42 to hit $47.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.19% or 2.50 to trade at $1324.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.80% to 1.1028, while EUR/GBP rose 2.79% to 0.8353.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.91% at 96.50.
