Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US), which rose 2.52% or 0.054 points to trade at 2.196 at the close. Meanwhile, Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) added 1.90% or 0.46 points to end at 24.70 and Exor (MI:EXOR) was up 1.87% or 0.83 points to 45.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Finmeccanica (MI:SIFI), which fell 2.38% or 0.290 points to trade at 11.900 at the close. Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) declined 1.55% or 0.0500 points to end at 3.1680 and ENI (MI:ENI) was down 1.13% or 0.1700 points to 14.8600.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 266 to 164 and 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.56% or 0.72 to $46.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.90% or 0.93 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.51% or 5.80 to trade at $1141.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1022, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7133.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.51% at 96.87.
