Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 4.81% or 0.31 points to trade at 6.81 at the close. Meanwhile, KPN Kon (AS:KPN) added 4.48% or 0.147 points to end at 3.427 and Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) was up 3.38% or 0.64 points to 19.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa), which fell 1.64% or 0.40 points to trade at 23.62 at the close. OCI (AS:OCI) declined 0.87% or 0.220 points to end at 25.045 and TNT Express (AS:TNTE) was down 0.20% or 0.015 points to 7.666.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 110 to 64 and 4 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.61% to 20.81.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.51% or 1.11 to $43.10 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 2.62% or 1.26 to hit $46.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.32% or 3.50 to trade at $1085.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.0729, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.7058.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 99.15.
