Biography | Mr. Stahl joined Wellington Management in 1998, where he currently serves as Director of Investment Strategy and Risk. As director of Investment Strategy and Risk, Kent conducts research on investment trends and focuses on major risks across our entire suite of equity, asset allocation, hedge fund, and fixed income approaches. While our firm does not have a traditional Chief Investment Officer, Kent and his team fulfill many of the elements that a CIO at other organizations would typically be responsible for overseeing. He is actively involved in our fiduciary oversight processes and serves on a number of our investment review committees, including as chairman of our Equity Review Group, as a member of the Fixed Income Review Group, and as the leader of our Equity Risk Advisory Council. Given the breadth of his exposure to all investment areas within the firm, he also serves as one of our primary investment spokespersons and is a strategic investment and risk advisor to a number of the firm’s larger clients. In addition, Kent is a portfolio manager on certain multi-manager solutions offered by the firm, including US, global, non-US, Japanese and hedge fund-like strategies. He is a member of the firm’s Operating Committee, which oversees non-compensation spending, and the Product Panel, which approves all new approaches offered by the firm.
