Investment Strategy

The investment seeks current income exempt from U.S. federal income tax and South Carolina individual income tax, consistent with moderate fluctuation of principal. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets in securities that pay interest exempt from U.S. federal income tax and South Carolina individual income tax. These securities are issued by or on behalf of the State of South Carolina and its political subdivisions, agencies, authorities and instrumentalities, by other qualified issuers and by funds that invest in such securities.

Biography Christopher Eckstrom has over 23 years of investment management experience. Mr. Eckstrom is currently responsible for the active fixed income management and trade execution for high net worth individuals, corporations, endowments and foundations. Prior to joining Comerica Asset Management, Mr. Eckstrom was a Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Municipal Strategies for Sovereign Advisers, a $2 billion privately owned asset management firm. Mr. Eckstrom also spent 12 years as a Senior Portfolio Manager with Columbia Management Group, a subsidiary of Bank of America. While at Bank of America, Mr. Eckstrom was Senior Credit Analyst and managed several tax-exempt mutual funds, corporate cash accounts and high net worth accounts. Mr. Eckstrom received his M.B.A. from St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York and his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Biography Poirier is responsible for the design and execution of portfolio strategies, supervising portfolio positions, credit analysis, and portfolio risk exposure. She has been actively involved in the municipal bond market since 1974 with positions in portfolio management, institutional sales, trading and operations. Prior to foundig the Moorings Group in 2003, Poirier managed over $2 billion in municipal bond assets for Banc of American Capital Management and its predecessors in Charlott, N.C. During her 12 year tenure and as Director of Fixed Income she managed mutual funds and separate accounts. Poirier also had supervisory responsibilities for a team of portfolio managers. Previously she held positions with Bankers Trust Company, Financial Service Corporation (FSC), The Robinson-Humphrey Company and Shearson Loeb Rhoades. Poirer graduation from Georgia State University in 1988 with a B.B.A in marketing.
