Investment Strategy

The investment seeks a high level of current income exempt from federal and Maryland state and local income taxes, consistent with prudent investment risk and preservation of capital. The fund will normally invest at least 80% of its net assets in municipal obligations, the interest of which is exempt from Maryland state and local taxes and is not considered an item of tax preference for the purpose of the federal alternative minimum tax. The fund is non-diversified.

Biography	Schwatka is a senior vice president with Legg Mason Capital Management, her employer since 1986. Previously, she spent five years as a vice president with ASB Capital Management, and three years as a senior fixed-income portfolio manager with the Florida State Board of Administration. She was also an account officer with Citibank for a year and a portfolio manager with Lazard Freres & Company for six years. She has over 27 years of investment experience.
