Australia’s construction pipeline continues to improve.
Australia’s nationwide construction pipeline is looking very healthy, with August further improving on July’s previous high since November 2017. The pipeline has recorded 2,260 projects (up from 1,963 in July), for a combined value of $23.5 billion.
The latest CoreLogic - Cordell Construction Monthly Report identified Civil Engineering projects as the heroes of the sector, leading both the quantity stakes at 29% of all pipeline projects, and the majority of pipeline value at 57%. Second place goes to ‘Apartment and Unit’ projects, with 25% of the pipeline quantity and 14% of the pipeline value, but the highest median project value of $1.2M.
897 projects are moving into construction, for a combined value of $5.289 billion. Civil Engineering projects again lead for quantity of projects at 34%, but ‘Apartments and Units’ have a clear lead on value, with 47% of the ‘moving into construction’ value and the highest median value of $2M
