Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Leasing & Factoring and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.65%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO), which rose 14.94% or 0.130 points to trade at 1.000 at the close. Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) added 3.70% or 0.020 points to end at 0.560 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was up 3.25% or 0.26 points to 8.26 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which lost 7.90% or 0.87 points to trade at 10.14 in late trade. Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) declined 4.29% or 1.58 points to end at 35.24 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) shed 3.58% or 0.26 points to 7.01.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 186 to 156 and 65 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1327.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.02% or 0.44 to hit $42.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $44.92 a barrel.

USD/TRY was down 0.05% to 3.0463, while EUR/TRY fell 0.04% to 3.3482.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.17.
