Investment Strategy

The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund invests in equity securities of U.S. and non-U.S. companies of various market capitalizations. It also invests in fixed income securities, which are not subject to any credit rating or maturity limitations, issued by companies and government and supranational entities around the world. The fund may invest in emerging as well as developed markets and may invest a significant portion of its assets in the securities of companies in particular economic sectors. It may also invest in the securities of other investment companies, including exchange-traded funds ("ETFs"), and in structured securities.

Biography Ed serves as a Portfolio Manager and Co-Head of Strategy Research, Americas House View Portfolios for UBS Asset Management. In his role, Ed is responsible for managing portfolios offered to UBS Wealth Management clients that are aligned with UBS Wealth Management House Views. As Co-Head of Strategy Research, Ed is responsible for directing due diligence efforts for active and passive equity and liquid alternative strategies that are included in portfolios. Ed is a voting member of the Managed Account Solutions Investment Committee. The Investment Committee reviews and approves investment strategies, prior to implementation, in the House View portfolios. Prior to joining Asset Management in November 2020, Ed was a Portfolio Manager in the Investment Management group of UBS Global Wealth Management., where he was responsible for strategy selection, portfolio construction and management of multi-managed strategies. Ed's investment responsibilities also extended to broader asset allocation and portfolio construction work. Ed was a member of the Investment Management Investment Committee (IMIC) and was a member of the Investment Management Research Committee (IMRC). Prior to joining UBS in 2018, Ed worked at Oppenheimer Asset Management where he held roles as a senior alternatives analyst before being promoted to Director of Investment Manager Research. Biography Mark Friedman is recognized for his distinguished career of over twenty five years in the alternative investment industry. Mr. Friedman founded DLD Asset Management, LP in May 2013, where he serves as the Chief Investment Officer and Founder. Prior to launching DLD, Mr. Friedman briefly served as the Director of Trading and Operations at Touradji Capital Management. Prior to joining Touradji Capital, Mr. Friedman co-founded AM Investment Partners, LLC and co-ran the business from July 2001 through December 2011. AM was a multi-arbitrage strategy hedge fund operating in New York City and Hong Kong. Mr. Friedman’s primary role was to serve as Chief Investment Officer for all investment strategies. AM prided itself on a slow and steady growth providing outsized risk adjusted returns and peaking in assets under management at just over $1 billion. Prior to co-founding AM, he served as Director and Head of Deutsche Bank’s U.S. Convertible Trading desk in New York City from September 1997 through July 2001. At Deutsche Bank, he was recognized for consistently achieving strong returns while managing the risks associated with a multi-billion dollar convertible arbitrage portfolio. Mr. Friedman additionally served as Vice President with SBC Warburg in London trading South East Asian equity derivatives and convertibles. From May 1992 through August 1994, Mr. Friedman began his career as a Specialist and Market Maker trading U.S. equity options on the American Stock Exchange for O’Connor and Associates. Mr. Friedman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and International Business from New York University, Stern School of Business.

Biography Prior to joining Magnetar Capital in 2010, Mr. Dallaire was a Senior Investment Researcher at Bridgewater Associates where he was responsible for researching and developing risk management and portfolio construction strategies for their Fundamental Global Macro Fund. Previously, he was Head of Risk Management and Quantitative Research at Third Point. From 2001 to 2006, he was Head of Global Equity Quantitative Research at Citadel Investment Group. Mr. Dallaire started his career in 1994 at Stafford Trading where he was Head of Quantitative Research. Mr. Dallaire has an AB in Economics from the University of Chicago and has completed Coursework and exams towards a Ph.D. in Econometrics at the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business.

Biography Mr. Duttaroy has 15 years of experience trading convertible bonds across global markets. Prior to joining DLD, Mr. Duttaroy served as Portfolio Manager for the Convertible Arbitrage Strategy at Amida Capital Management, where he managed a global convertible bond portfolio. Prior to joining Amida Capital, Mr. Duttaroy served as Portfolio Manager for the Convertible Arbitrage Strategy at AM Investment Partners, where he managed a multi-million dollar portfolio. Mr. Duttaroy also served as convertible bond trader at Grace Brothers Management (concentrated on trading domestic convertible bonds) and at EBF & Associates trading for both Asia Non-Japan and European convertible bond portfolios. Mr. Duttaroy holds an Master’s of Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Texas-Austin.
