Biography Scot is the Co-Head of the Macquarie Systematic Investments equities team. Scot’s responsibilities include the day to day management of the global portfolios, oversight of the trading function, development of new strategies and client engagement. Derek completed his Bachelor of Science degree at James Cook University, has qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and is a CFA Charterholder.

Biography Ben is the Co-Head of the Macquarie Systematic Investments equities team. In addition to the day to day management of the portfolios, Ben is also the Head of Research where he is responsible for managing the research agenda. Ben joined Listed Equities in 2005 as a quantitative analyst where his responsibilities included the development and maintenance of various quantitative models. Following his successful efforts to expand the quantitative capability to international markets, he formed the foundation of the current systematic investment approach. In 2012, Ben and Scot joined together to create the Systematic Investment team to focus exclusively on developing this capability and bringing the benefits to the market place. Prior to joining, he worked as a software engineer for Macquarie’s technology division in Sydney.

Biography Monique joined Macquarie in 1998 and is part of the Australian equity Portfolio Management team which oversees the management of the active Australian equity strategies. Monique is the lead Portfolio Manager for the Australian REITs and index strategies. Her responsibilities include the day to day management of the indexed and REIT portfolios. Monique is also the lead for the Systematic Investment’s team ESG and Investment Stewardship activities. Previously, Monique was Head of Dealing for the Equities team, performing all the dealing functions including trading, portfolio administration and performance attribution. Monique has completed her Bachelor of Business (Finance) at UTS.

Biography Mark joined Macquarie Funds Group in 2007 as co lead portfolio manager for the Macquarie High Conviction Fund and assumed the lead in Q408. Mark’s time is split equally between the day to day management of the High Conviction Fund along with detailed fundamental research on a list of possible investment targets and current portfolio holdings. Mark previously spent four years at Bernstein as a Senior Research Analyst, with responsibility for consumer cyclical and staples, healthcare, transport and infrastructure. Prior to this, Mark founded Domus Capital and had spent three years in private equity at Catalyst Investment Managers. He was intimately involved in the acquisition of Pacific Brands, and subsequently sat on the Board. Mark also worked for three years as a strategy consultant with The L.E.K Partnership. Mark holds Bachelors of Commerce (first class honours) and Law from UNSW, and was Associate Lecturer in School of Banking and Finance.
