Tapiola Emerging Market Debt fund invests mainly in various types of funds that may invest in bonds issued by both companies and public corporations. The fund may also make direct investments in such debt instruments. In exceptional cases, the target funds may also make investments in interest rate markets outside the emerging markets, for the purpose of risk management. The target funds may be actively managed or they may follow indices. The investment allocation of Tapiola Emerging Market Debt is not fixed; various target funds are weighted in accordance with the market situation. The fund can invest in derivative financial instruments in order to promote efficient portfolio management or protect itself from unfavourable market changes. The fund’s investments have been hedged against fluctuations of the US dollar.
