The investment objective of FSIF is to generate long term capital appreciation and/or income in SGD terms for investors by investing primarily in fixed income or debt securities. The Managers seek to add value from interest rate accruals, selection of bonds and/or credits and duration management (optimisation of bond returns by selecting bonds with different terms to maturity). The Fund will invest in a diversified portfolio of primarily investment grade fixed income or debt securities having a minimum long term credit rating of BBB- by Fitch, Baa3 by Moody’s or BBB- by Standard & Poor’s (or their respective equivalents) and cash.

Biography | Melvin Lee, CFA, Vice President, and Portfolio Manager is a member of the Fixed-Income team. In his current role, he is responsible for the management of our Singapore dollar bond portfolios and is the lead credit fund manger covering credit research and strategy. He is also responsible for the management of CDO portfolios. Melvin has nine (9) years of experience in the fixed-income market and joined Fullerton in 2006. Prior to Fullerton, Melvin was a manager with Lion Capital Management, managing synthetic CDOs and doing credit analysis of global corporate bonds. He also worked in UOB Asset Management, primarily covering the US and European corporate bonds, and managing Singapore dollar bond portfolios as well as money market funds. Melvin graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Business Degree (Honours) in 1998. He was awarded the NTU scholarship where he obtained his Master of Business (Banking & Finance) in 2000. |
