Biography Mark is a Principal of State Street Global Advisors and a Senior Portfolio Manager for State Street Global Advisors, Australia, Limited. Mark joined SSgA in June 1999 to manage active Australian equity portfolios. Prior to joining SSgA, Mark was at MMI Investment Management as an Industrial Equities Analyst, where he was responsible for the analysis of a range of industry sectors, as well as portfolio management responsibilities. Before that, Mark spent three years at Suncorp as an Industrial Equities Analyst. Prior to this, he was with Price Waterhouse for four years, during which he completed the Institute of Chartered Accountants Professional Year and the Securities Institute of Australia Diploma course. Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Queensland University of Technology. Mark is responsible for portfolio construction and investment strategy. He has over 24 years' experience dated in 2015 in the financial industry where he has held a number of roles including Co-Head of Equities, Portfolio Manager and Senior Equity Analyst. Mark's most recent role was Director and Co-Head of Australian Equities for ING Investment Management where he was jointly responsible for over $10 billion in funds under management. In this role, Mark was directly responsible for portfolio construction and stock selection.

Massive underperformance of the All Ords. They basically bet against the banks and lost. Still happy to take their $8-9m in fees each year. A prime example of why to stick with an index ETF.
