Online traders rely exclusively on price action and the formations and trends extrapolated from it to make trading decisions. Technical analysis as a practice is a derivative of price action since it uses past prices in calculations that can then be used to inform trading decisions. Most technical indicators are used only as secondary filter system or an interpreter when we cannot understand what price is saying.

Price action analysis is the act of studying, reading and interpreting the price movement of a market over time, which involves the use of raw price charts to trade the market (no indicators). By learning to read the price action of a market, we can determine a market’s directional bias as well as trade from reoccurring price action patterns or price action setups that reflect changes or continuations in market sentiment.
