The Fund seeks to maximise total return. The Fund invests at least 70% of its total assets in the equity securities of small and mid capitalisation companies domiciled in, or exercising the predominant part of their economic activity in, Switzerland. Small and mid capitalisation companies are considered companies which, at the time of purchase, are not members of the Swiss Market Index.

Biography David Tovey, CFA, Director and portfolio manager, is a member of BlackRock's European Specialist equity team. Mr. Tovey joined BlackRock following the merger with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) in 2006. At MLIM, Mr. Tovey was a member of the European Specialist equity team, responsible for managing the MLIIF Global Opportunities Fund. He began his career with MLIM in 1998 as an analyst with the US Small Cap equity team. Mr. Tovey earned a BA degree in economics, with honours, from Warwick University.

Biography Carl Lee, Managing Director and portfolio manager, is head of BlackRock's European Specialist equity team. Mr. Lee's service with the firm dates back to 1996, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. At MLIM, he was the head of the European Specialist equity team. He joined MLIM in 1996 as a member of the MLIM graduate training program. Prior to joining MLIM in 1996, Mr. Lee spent 12 years as an officer in the Royal Air Force. Mr. Lee is an associate member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals and holds the ASIP professional designation. He earned a BSc degree in mathematics, with honours, from Leicester University in 1984.
