The Sub-Fund aims to generate capital growth and income over the long term (5 years or more). The Sub-Fund is actively managed and invests at least 70% of the portfolio in global equities (company shares), including ordinary shares, preference shares and other equity-related securities and fixed income securities (bonds).

Biography | Bhavin joined Newton in June 2011 as a portfolio manager in the mixed assets investment team. Prior to joining Newton, he worked at SG Hambros for seven years where he was responsible for managing client portfolios focused on absolute return and multi-asset strategies. Bhavin is co-lead manager on a numerous multi-asset accounts at Newton. In addition to portfolio management responsibilities, Bhavin is a member of the Investment Risk Oversight Group and is a co-lead of our ‘net effects’ thematic group, which focuses on digitalisation trends. Biography | Alison joined the team in October 2021 to work as a portfolio manager for the charity business. She gained considerable experience managing multi-asset charity portfolios at Barings Asset Management. Prior to this, Alison was an equity analyst at TT International. Alison is a CFA charterholder and graduated from the University of Bristol with a MSc in Physics. Outside of work, Alison is busy with her young family, but if she has free time she enjoys baking and reading. | ||

Biography | Simon joined Newton in 2001 and was responsible for research into a number of global industrial sectors before moving to portfolio management. Simon’s experience includes managing global, multi-asset, charity and UK equity portfolios. Simon is a chartered accountant (ACA) and prior to joining Newton he worked in both audit and insolvency practices at leading accountancy firms. He is a CFA charterholder, a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (MCSI), and also holds a BA (Hons) degree in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham. Outside of work, Simon is a keen runner. | ||

Biography | Hilary looks after a range of charity clients including educational, religious, medical and social charities. She has a wealth of experience in the fund management industry, having worked at James Capel and Charterhouse Bank before joining Newton following the acquisition of Capital House. Hilary is an Associate of the CFA Society of the UK and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. She has passed the CFA ESG Certificate. Hilary has a history degree from the University of East Anglia. Outside of work, she enjoys walking, cooking and music. Hilary has worked at Newton for over 25 years. |
