The Fund aims to provide a higher total return (the combination of capital growth and income), net of the Ongoing Charge Figure, than the average return of the Bloomberg Global Treasury Index Unhedged USD over any five-year period. At least 70% of the Fund is invested, directly or indirectly through derivatives, in investment grade debt securities. These securities can be issued or guaranteed by governments and their agencies, public authorities, quasi-sovereigns, and supranational bodies from anywhere in the world, including Emerging Markets. These securities can be denominated in any currency.

Biography | Eva Sun-Wai became the lead manager on the Global Government Bond strategy and deputy manager on the Global Macro Bond strategy in January 2021. Since September 2019, Eva had been a junior macro fund manager in the Wholesale Fixed Income team, where her role involved implementing macroeconomic trade ideas in the Global Macro Bond and the Absolute Return Bond strategies. She joined M&G in 2018 on the Investment Graduate Scheme, rotating across several business areas including emerging market debt, corporate credit research, real estate and long-term investment strategy. Biography | Claudia Calich joined M&G in October 2013 as a specialist in emerging markets debt and, in December 2013, started managing the Emerging Markets Bond strategy. Since May 2017, she has also been on the management team of strategies domiciled in Luxembourg. Biography | Mike Riddell joined Allianz Global Investors in October 2015 as a fixed income portfolio manager and is the original member and Head of the Macro Unconstrained team. As well as depth of experience, Mike’s experience is broad, having run a range of UK and global fixed income portfolios over his career, covering both developed markets and emerging markets. David worked at Prudential in South Africa in 1999 and 2000, and was responsible for establishing our current fixed interest process. David joined M&G in 1997 as member of the fixed income team, specialising in UK and Global bond portfolios. David graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in Economics and from Birkbeck College with an MSc in Economics. Biography | Richard Ryan joined M&G in 2001 as a fund manager in the fixed income team, managing a range of institutional corporate bond funds. Prior to joining M&G, Richard worked for Nomura Asset Management as an institutional fund manager with specific responsibility for global government and corporate bond portfolios. Before this, he worked for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in the Credit Products Group trading sterling-denominated corporate bonds. Richard graduated from Southampton University with a degree in economics. |
