Investment Strategy

The Absa Smart Alpha Property Fund will be actively managed and will invest directly in individual property securities, however individual exposure can be gained from time to time to ensure efficient portfolio management. The Absa Smart Alpha Property Fund will invest in listed South African property stocks with the intention of adding alpha to the Property index. This fund is a quasi-passive fund which invests in securities predominantly through indices whilst generating Alpha using quantitative asset allocation techniques.

Biography	In 2006 Aaron joined Vunani Fund Managers in a portfolio management capacity encompassing all asset classes. He was involved in risk transfer, derivatives structuring and pricing. He was the primary proxy voter at Vunani Fund Managers, and ensured that the JSE indices were correctly rebalanced as proposed by the index change advisors. At Vunani Fund Managers, he worked as both an analyst and portfolio manager on the single asset fund team where he successfully developed dynamic active strategy portfolios. He has since joined Absa Capital Alternative Asset Management (Pty) Ltd in 2011 as a portfolio manager and is responsible for driving passive, alternative and smart beta strategies.
