Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Information Services and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were X-Legend (TW:4994), which rose 9.95% or 7.60 points to trade at 84.00 at the close. Enterex International Ltd (TW:1592) added 9.94% or 4.35 points to end at 48.10 and Genius (TW:3406) was up 9.85% or 5.30 points to 59.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genesis Photon (TW:3383), which lost 9.89% or 0.36 points to trade at 3.28 in late trade. Tai-I (TW:1613) declined 9.87% or 0.300 points to end at 2.740 and Gintech (TW:3514) shed 9.43% or 1.75 points to 16.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 427 to 322 and 124 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.15% or 0.07 to $45.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.17% or 0.08 to hit $46.55 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1225.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.19% to 31.909, while TWD/CNY rose 1.03% to 0.2150.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 100.44.
