Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 1.13% or 1.260 points to trade at 112.980 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) added 1.12% or 2.840 points to end at 256.820 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 0.69% or 0.410 points to 59.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 3.67% or 0.650 points to trade at 17.040 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 3.21% or 0.920 points to end at 27.770 and America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) shed 3.09% or 0.400 points to 12.550.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 152 to 112 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 1.21% or 14.05 to $1144.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 4.17% or 2.21 to hit $50.77 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $53.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.07% to 20.4871, while EUR/MXN rose 0.07% to 21.5754.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.94% at 102.03.
