Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 5.59% or 1.120 points to trade at 21.170 at the close. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 5.53% or 4.400 points to end at 83.930 and Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) was up 4.09% or 5.230 points to 133.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB), which lost 2.40% or 0.760 points to trade at 30.920 in late trade. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) declined 2.18% or 1.94 points to end at 86.96 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) shed 0.91% or 1.410 points to 154.210.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 171 to 103 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.94% or 11.00 to $1161.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.28% or 0.65 to hit $51.49 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.47 to trade at $54.36 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.40% to 20.3961, while EUR/MXN fell 0.11% to 21.5406.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 101.60.
