Suvo Strategic Minerals Ltd (ASX:SUV) has successfully completed initial trial pours of Colliecrete, its low carbon geopolymer concrete, in preparation for the demonstration pour on the Bunbury Outer Ring Road Project in Western Australia.
“We see the successful Colliecrete trials last week as another step forward in demonstrating the application of low carbon geopolymer concrete and accelerating its commercialisation,” said Suvo non-executive chairman Aaron Banks.
“The time on site was an excellent opportunity to develop our team and partner working relationships and continue to build execution capabilities needed for commercialisation. The demonstration pour will give us important empirical data to provide more information to prospective users of Colliecrete.”
The trial pours were facilitated by Dowsing Group and completed at Peel Resource Recovery in Kemerton, WA. They involved a series of 5 x 2 cubic metre pours of Colliecrete, completed during the week of April 15, 2024, using the company’s low carbon geopolymer concrete batching plant and a mobile self-loading concrete batching unit.
The site team comprised Dowsing, Suvo and Murdoch University personnel, enabling in-situ fine-tuning of the mix design to meet wet concrete specification and workability requirements. A series of cylinder moulds were collected for 28-day strength testing.
Demonstrates scalability and application
These trials demonstrate key parameters for scalability and application of the company’s low carbon geopolymer concrete to Suvo’s MOU partners, Dowsing and PERMacast.
Suvo advises that the data gathered from the trials has also been passed on to some leading industry civil contractors who have made inquiries for various products that are being assessed for suitability for a major infrastructure project.
