Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Diversified Holdings, Services and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG), which rose 19.45% or 11.40 points to trade at 70.00 at the close. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) added 15.73% or 9.50 points to end at 69.90 and Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) was up 11.76% or 10.00 points to 95.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Tea Services PLC (CM:CTEA), which lost 22.91% or 194.70 points to trade at 655.10 in late trade. Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) declined 10.06% or 19.60 points to end at 175.30 and Brown & Company PLC (CM:BRWN) shed 9.67% or 8.70 points to 81.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 110 to 63 and 49 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.22% or 0.60 to $48.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.01% or 0.51 to hit $50.03 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.91% or 11.60 to trade at $1287.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.94% to 207.000, while USD/LKR rose 0.49% to 145.630.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.57.
