Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS), which rose 6.73% or 0.301 points to trade at 4.771 at the close. Meanwhile, Sacyr (MADRID:SCYR) added 2.98% or 0.059 points to end at 2.058 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MADRID:DIDA) was up 2.75% or 0.147 points to 5.499 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG), which fell 1.89% or 0.149 points to trade at 7.721 at the close. BBVA (MADRID:BBVA) declined 1.11% or 0.085 points to end at 7.506 and Bankinter (MADRID:BKT) was down 0.75% or 0.050 points to 6.580.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 149 to 63 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 2.14% or 23.80 to $1137.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.36% or 0.16 to hit $44.58 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.23 to trade at $47.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1258, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.7404.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 95.77.
