Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 3.81% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT), which fell 1.02% or 0.1150 points to trade at 11.1750 at the close. Meanwhile, REN (LISBON:RENE) fell 2.67% or 0.0685 points to end at 2.4965 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was down 3.13% or 0.0002 points to 0.0062 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which fell 6.98% or 0.0054 points to trade at 0.0720 at the close. Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) declined 6.26% or 0.2175 points to end at 3.2575 and Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) was down 5.50% or 0.0570 points to 0.9800.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 64 to 5 and 1 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 4.32% or 2.60 to $57.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 3.44% or 1.91 to hit $53.61 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1167.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1078, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.7091.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.29.
