Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 2.90% or 0.0770 points to trade at 2.7350 at the close. Meanwhile, Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) added 1.76% or 0.01 points to end at 0.86 and Portucel (LISBON:PTI) was up 0.98% or 0.0355 points to 3.6555 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which fell 2.52% or 0.0280 points to trade at 1.0820 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) declined 2.18% or 0.2600 points to end at 11.6400 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) was down 2.14% or 0.0085 points to 0.3895.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 45 to 17 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.90% or 0.53 to $58.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.51% or 0.79 to hit $52.99 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1154.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1009, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.7065.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.84.
