Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 4.61% or 0.5300 points to trade at 12.0300 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 1.82% or 0.0480 points to end at 2.6850 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.68% or 0.2450 points to 14.7950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 11.48% or 0.0240 points to trade at 0.1850 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.84% or 0.0900 points to end at 3.0750 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 1.83% or 0.1040 points to 5.5700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 22 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 4.30% or 1.91 to $46.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 4.69% or 2.03 to hit $45.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.31% or 3.75 to trade at $1225.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.0730, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8630.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 100.14.
