Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 3.16%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AMS:AEGN), which rose 5.92% or 0.291 points to trade at 5.203 at the close. Meanwhile, Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) added 5.66% or 0.41 points to end at 7.71 and Unilever NV (AMS:UNc) was up 5.01% or 1.70 points to 35.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which fell 4.01% or 0.290 points to trade at 6.937 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) declined 1.58% or 0.08 points to end at 5.04 and Gemalto (AMS:GTO) was up 0.75% or 0.43 points to 58.08.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 145 to 25 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.58% or 0.08 to 5.04.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.61% to 29.30.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.89% or 0.40 to $45.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $48.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.76% or 8.80 to trade at $1145.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1193, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.7379.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 96.43.
