Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 3.29% or 0.850 points to trade at 26.690 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 3.27% or 3.130 points to end at 98.850 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 3.20% or 0.810 points to 26.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 1.67% or 0.290 points to trade at 17.090 in late trade. Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) declined 1.21% or 1.590 points to end at 130.330 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) shed 1.15% or 0.360 points to 30.950.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 151 to 113 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.21% or 2.50 to $1197.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.87% or 0.46 to hit $52.55 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.42 to trade at $55.59 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.40% to 21.4777, while EUR/MXN fell 1.08% to 22.8603.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 101.17.
