Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Travel and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.35%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which rose 11.70% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.105 at the close. Meanwhile, Elgeka (AT:ELGr) added 9.85% or 0.020 points to end at 0.223 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 9.28% or 0.045 points to 0.530 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which fell 7.84% or 0.057 points to trade at 0.670 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 3.96% or 0.040 points to end at 0.970 and Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) was down 3.47% or 0.01 points to 0.42.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 68 to 20 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.84% or 0.057 to 0.670.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.33% or 3.70 to $1117.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.71% or 1.25 to hit $44.80 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.95% or 1.47 to trade at $48.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1162, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.7310.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 96.19.
