Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the General Retailers, Beverage and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.20%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (PARIS:PRTP), which rose 2.21% or 3.35 points to trade at 155.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) added 2.03% or 0.32 points to end at 16.07 and Accor SA (PARIS:ACCP) was up 2.00% or 0.85 points to 43.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Schneider Electric SE (PARIS:SCHN), which fell 2.28% or 1.29 points to trade at 55.36 at the close. Bouygues SA (PARIS:BOUY) declined 1.64% or 0.56 points to end at 33.69 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) was down 1.57% or 0.10 points to 6.21.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Korian Medica SA (PARIS:KORI) which rose 6.88% to 32.300, JC Decaux SA (PARIS:JCDX) which was up 5.70% to settle at 34.20 and Genfit (PARIS:GNFT) which gained 3.52% to close at 40.250.
The worst performers were Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) which was down 13.67% to 0.240 in late trade, Montupet SA (PARIS:MNTP) which lost 10.68% to settle at 60.460 and Maurel Et Prom (PARIS:MAUP) which was down 3.92% to 3.65 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 388 to 316 and 63 ended unchanged.
Shares in Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) fell to all time lows; losing 13.67% or 0.038 to 0.240. Shares in Maurel Et Prom (PARIS:MAUP) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.92% or 0.15 to 3.65.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.72% to 25.61.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.70 to $1117.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.38% or 0.18 to hit $46.97 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.70% or 0.84 to trade at $48.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1314, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.7285.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 95.39.
