Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Energy, Basic Materials and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.85%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 2.38% or 3.60 points to trade at 154.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 0.97% or 0.25 points to end at 25.93 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 0.82% or 0.44 points to 54.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were mBank SA (WA:MBK), which fell 5.84% or 19.60 points to trade at 316.15 at the close. PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) declined 5.82% or 0.84 points to end at 13.60 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was down 5.36% or 0.81 points to 14.29.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 398 to 184 and 104 ended unchanged.
Shares in mBank SA (WA:MBK) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.84% or 19.60 to 316.15. Shares in Energa SA (WA:ENGP) fell to all time lows; losing 5.36% or 0.81 to 14.29.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.22% or 0.51 to $42.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.07% or 0.93 to hit $45.59 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.75% or 8.10 to trade at $1068.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.40% to 4.2528, while USD/PLN rose 0.73% to 4.0085.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 99.94.
